The second phase of "School of Energy" started with a training
The second phase of the project "School of Energy" has started!
"School of Energy 2.0" is being realised by the Association "Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine" (EECU), supported by the project “Establishment of Energy Agencies in Ukraine”, implemented by „Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH“ on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety.
The project started in November 2016 and will last until October 2017.
Aim of the project is to improve energy efficiency and energy saving at schools by stregthening pupils' and teachers’ capacity in energy monitoring and management, sensitising them on energy topics and motivating them to self-engage in this area.
As first main event of the new project stage, on December 7-8 in Lviv teachers from selected schools received a training, at which they where supported by their cities' energy managers and technical experts specially assigned to them by the project.
On the first day, participants got familiar with the basics of energy monitoring and energy management and planned project steps at their school. In addition, each participant received the specially developed guidelines "Methodology for building energy management school".
On the next day, a representative of the company uMuni provided the participants with skills on a special software, which teachers and students now use on daily basis for monitoring energy indicators at their school.
