Covenant of Mayors

The Covenant of Mayors is the world's largest movement for climate and energy action at the local level. The European Covenant of Mayors initiative brings together thousands of local authorities that have voluntarily committed themselves to achieving the European Union's climate and energy goals. Ukraine is the leader among the Eastern Partnership countries in terms of the number of signatories, which is about 300 communities.

The Covenant of Mayors signatories are committed to taking steps to achieve the EU's greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of at least 30% by 2030 (40% for EU countries) and to develop a common approach to addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation.
