Forum topics:
- General description of district heating systems in Ukraine.
- Financial and economic state of enterprises. Best practices.
- Presentation of two studies: on the evolution of district heating and on the debts of heat suppliers.
District heating is a valuable resource for Ukrainian communities. More than half of the country's municipalities have preserved district heating systems. Outdated and inefficient equipment, worn-out and poorly insulated networks cause high heat losses during production and transportation. As a result, consumers receive low quality services at a relatively high cost. Renovation of networks and the use of environmentally friendly technologies will help communities save money, improve the quality of heat supply, earn money, and create jobs.
The event is part of the project “Closing the Loop: A Just Energy Transition Designed by Cities and Regions” from the European Commission. The content of the event is the sole responsibility of the NGO “Ecoclub” and does not necessarily reflect the position of the European Union.
