Solid fuel boiler opened in Kamyanets

On September 29, 2015 the Head of the project “Covenant of Mayors Capacity Building Model for Ukraine and Georgia: Model Solution for Eastern Partnership and Central Asian Countries”, Agnieszka Schirru-Nowicka, and Deputy Project Leader Vitaly Volkov visited the city of Kamyanets-Podilskyi in order to open the demonstration facility in Kindergarten №17.

The opening was attended by Mayor Mikhaylo Simashkevich, the Head of the Department for Education and Science, Svitlana Starchenko, Deputy Mayor Dmitro Vasylyanov, Expert and Senior Inspector of Energy Efficiency in Kamyanets-Podilskyi Yuri Lyahutko, Project Auditor Vladimir Shyhanov, employees of the City Council and the kindergarten, as well as children and their parents.

The children of the kindergarten named "Firefly" amused the adults with national dances, songs and poems. The opening of the facility began with a ribbon cutting and an inspection of the installed equipment and the works performed. The total international technical support by the European Union for the purchase and installation of the boiler plant was 575,000, and at the expense of co-financing of approximately 235,000  the heating system of the kindergarten was reconstructed.

Mayor Simashkevich expressed his readiness for further cooperation towards energy independence in his community.
