On February 15-16 the second training of "School of Energy 2.0" was held in Lviv for teachers from 15 selected schools from all over Ukraine.
The purpose of this two-day workshop was to train participants to organize awareness-raising events – so called School Energy Days – by using innovative and interactive approaches for attracting the public.
With this, the technical part of the project – energy monitoring and management, which participants have been intensely dealing with for the past couple of months – will be maximally spread among the school “families”, including parents, friends, city administration, journalists and the overall public.
The training was conducted by NGO activists from the organisations 350.org and UMKA, experienced in awareness-raising, supported by experts of the Association “Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine” (EECU), who provided the participants with specially developed and collected educational material.
All ideas, tools and instruments that the teachers received, they will afterwards disseminate among their pupils and colleagues.
As a result of the training, the next main step of the project will be the organization of School Energy Days. They are planned for April and May 2017.
