NEFCO in Rivne starts funding a new project that will cover the budget sector building and street lighting.

These days, discussions were held on the details of the implementation of a large-scale project "Implementation of energy saving in institutions and institutions belonging to the communal property of Rivne" with the financial support of NEFCO.

"This is already our third project in the city," says Yulia Shevchuk, Senior Advisor to the NEFCO Representative Office in Ukraine at Facebook, "we hope that the new larger project will bring comfort to the city's residents, savings for the city budget and environmental benefits."

In the obvious benefit of cooperation with the international organization "Northern Ecological Finance Corporation" (NEFCO), Rivne was convinced of its own experience. Last year, in the framework of the NEFCO-1 project on the basis of co-financing, the complete thermo-modernization of the 18th and 27th Rivne schools, the city spent almost two times less on the heating of these two educational institutions in the past heating season. The city has a real chance to get from the Northern Ecological Finance Corporation for the implementation of energy-efficient measures of about 5 million euros.

During the meeting under the chairmanship of the Mayor of Rivne, Volodymyr Khomka, the working group members set the main criteria for selecting the objects.

In the framework of the project, which involves the participation of 33 objects of the city, it is planned to implement energy conservation measures, namely: insulation of the facade, roof, insulation of the cellar, improvement of the heat transfer system, replacement of old windows, installation of drainage, washing of the heating system in schools, kindergartens , health care institutions and administrative buildings of communal property. The advantage will be, in particular, provided to the most energy-intensive educational institution that has conducted energy audits. Therefore, the project on the introduction of energy saving technologies provides for the introduction of innovative measures of complex thermo-modernization in the educational complex № 26.

 "There was a regular meeting of the working group of NEFCO, which came to Rivne to develop comprehensive measures for the implementation of the third stage of thermo-modernization and energy saving projects in our city. NEFCO is very pleased with the results of our cooperation on two projects for the warming up of schools. This allowed us to double the use of heat in 18th and 27th schools. The next stage is the secondary school № 26. I hope there will be even greater effect, because it is a very energy-consuming school. This is a loan from NEFCO in the amount of approximately 5-6 million euros, of which the lion's share - about 4 million - will go to the thermo-modernization of the most energy-consuming buildings, and about 2 million - for the modernization of street lighting (mainly for the replacement of lamps for energy efficiency) " , - says Volodymyr Khomko, mayor of Rivne.
