Memorandum of Cooperation between Ternopil and Presov (Slovak Republic)
The visit of Slovak partners to Ternopil took place at the most dramatic moment since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, when almost the entire city was cut off from electricity as a result of an early morning enemy attack.
On November 26, in Ternopil, thanks to the partnership and efforts of the Association of Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine and the Slovak Foreign Policy Association, the two cities signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of energy efficiency, climate change mitigation, rational use of resources and green transition.
The signed document envisages the participation of both cities in the initiation, formation, and maintenance of the European Territorial Cooperation Group, a legal entity temporarily or permanently operating under the current European Commission program that can implement joint projects with funding from European funds.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Presov, Dr. Francishek Oliva, and his advisors, Alexander Duleba and Karel Hirman, and by the Mayor of Ternopil, Serhiy Nadal, his deputy Vladyslav Stemkovsky, Head of the International Relations Department Volodymyr Kashytsky, and EECU representative, Coordinator of the Association's projects and programs Andriy Kyrchiv.
After signing the memorandum, the guests, accompanied by representatives of the Ternopil city authorities, visited one of the city's important infrastructure facilities, modernized with the funds of a World Bank loan.
