"Intelligent Cities Challenge" and Ukraine: competition announced
Do you want a green, intelligent and socially responsible rebuilding for your city?
Join the European Commission's Intelligent Cities Challenge, an initiative that has already brought together more than 200 cities from EU member states, educating and assisting them in achieving climate neutrality by 2050. From now on, Ukrainian cities can also join this initiative in the observer status, which has been specially added by the European Commission, allowing them to participate in online and offline events of the Smart Cities Challenge, gain new knowledge and adopt the best practices of their European colleagues.
Cities with a population of 50,000 or more who share the relevant values and want to learn more about how best to make a green transition can apply for the initiative. To do so, a local government, such as a city council, must:
- fill out the application form;
- attach a scanned copy of the letter of intent from the mayor or his deputy;
- indicate two representatives who will devote two or three days a month to the Initiative;
- attach their resumes.
The application should be sent to cities@ec.europa.eu with a copy to helpdesk_icc@technopolis-group.com.
Application deadline is February 23, 2024.
DOCUMENTS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED IN ENGLISH.
More information on the observer city status, selection criteria, and application process can be found in this presentation.
