Webinar "Chernihiv's experience in reorganising the passenger transportation system in 2022-2023" to be held on 27 October
The Association of Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine (EECU) and NGO Vision Zero invite representatives of local governments, municipal and private transport companies to participate in the webinar "Chernihiv's experience in reorganising the passenger transport system in 2022-2023".
The webinar will take place on 27th October 2023, Friday, from 15:00 to 16:30.
The purpose of the webinar is to familiarise the participants with new approaches to the organisation of urban passenger transportation under the current legislation and expected changes in legislation as part of Ukraine's integration into the EU.
The webinar participants will learn:
- How the electronic ticketing system operates in Chernihiv, which is managed by a private company on the basis of a tender held in accordance with the laws of Ukraine. What changes were introduced by Chernihiv to the system of compensation to carriers in 2022-2023, and what results did it bring.
- How can communities introduce new approaches to public transport management within the current legal framework?
- What changes are expected in the public transport sector in the coming years as part of the harmonisation of legislation under the Association Agreement with the EU.
Agenda of the webinar:
The webinar will include a Q&A format and a package of training and practical materials for registered participants. The Zoom link will be available for registered participants, and the event will be streamed live on Facebook for other interested parties.
Those interested in participating are invited to register by 25th October via the registration form.
Participants will be sent links to the training materials, so please provide your correct email address when registering.
NGO Vision Zero works in the field of sustainable urban mobility. In 2016, the organisation started working on road safety, hence the name "Vision Zero". This is a concept created in Sweden that states that any road deaths are unacceptable and that the professionals responsible for this should strive to reduce this number to zero.
In 2022, in light of a full-scale war and the future need for green post-war reconstruction of Ukraine's cities, transport infrastructure and economy, the organisation's goals were expanded:
- Traffic safety - Zero fatalities in traffic crashes;
- Zero-emission public transport;
- Zero barriers in mobility and transport infrastructure and services;
- Post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, which, in our opinion, should be in line with the principles of sustainable development and EU strategic documents.
