Ukrainian cities have the opportunity to join the European Commission's Intelligent Cities Challenge initiative

Intelligent Cities Challenge (ICC) is the initiative that supports the efforts of European cities to plan for the green and digital transition of their local economies through the Local Green Deals tool. Participation in the initiative is especially relevant for communities that have declared their desire to become climate neutral and are starting to plan their actions.

The initiative that started with cities in EU member states, is ready to involve cities from Ukraine as observers in its the second phase. 

The candidate cities from Ukraine are expected to:

• be from a relatively sefe region;
• have more than 50,000 inhabitants;
• be able to communicate in English.

Participation in the project is an opportunity to benefit from the advice of experts and mentor cities, review their strategies and learn how to develop their own Local Green Deal to become a part of an unprecedented process of creating a future carbon-neutral Europe.

The application deadline for Ukrainian cities is 30 November 2023.
