The summer heat that spread across Ukraine in July has been replaced by rains and storms. One of them destroyed the roof of an apartment building of one of the condominiums in Kostopil city at Fabrychna Street.
The condominium appealed to the city council for help, as they needed to find funds to replace the roof as soon as possible. Kostopil actively uses the EECU Revolving Fund for Cities, which provides repayable financial assistance to condominiums. At the moment, the total amount of funds in the RFC of Kostopil is UAH 1 million.
"Of course, the condominiums could not raise funds so quickly because the house is mostly inhabited by people of retirement age. We realized that we had to help, because it's difficult for pensioners to get a loan. The only thing we were worried about was whether the purpose of the loan would coincide with the definition of energy efficient measures specified in our agreement with the RFC," commented Victoria Muzychko, chief specialist energy manager of the Department of Economics and Regional Development of Kostopil City Council.
On Thursday, the condominium applied to the city council, on Friday evening they received the funds, and on Saturday they could start work on the roof. The condominium received a repayable financial assistance in the amount of UAH 120,000 for a period of 11 months. The condominium must return the funds by June 19, 2025.
