"Solar energy for children": 18 solar systems for uninterrupted supply of hot water to kindergartens
The Solar Energy for Kids project is being launched in Ukraine. The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving announces the start of a competition among communities for pre-school education institutions in Ukraine as part of the Solar Energy for Kids project.
The project plans to install solar systems in kindergartens. This will ensure uninterrupted hot water supply in the institutions. This will result in comfort for children and cost savings for budgetary institutions.
This initiative will be implemented within the framework of a trilateral partnership between the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, the GIZ project "Promoting Energy Efficiency and Implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive in Ukraine" and Ukrsvitloleasing.
Who can participate in the project? Any territorial community.
What do I need to participate in the competition? To participate in the selection of projects, participants must submit a project (proposal) that defines the goal, describes the methods of implementation, and an approximate calculation of the expected energy saving effect.
Each community participant can submit only one project (proposal).
What is the application deadline? The application deadline is November 12th, 2023.

To participate in the selection of projects, a potential participant shall submit a completed Application for Participation in the Selection of Projects.
The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
- Technical passport of the building.
- A motivation letter signed by a responsible person. (Indicate why it is necessary to install a solar hot water heating system in this particular institution. Requirements: in Ukrainian or English, maximum 400 words)
- Conclusion of the inspection of the technical condition of the building and roof.
- A document confirming the availability of a simple shelter.
- Confirmation of the implemented energy management in the community (scan of the decision of the local council or the order of the mayor).
Applications can be submitted in electronic (using an electronic digital signature) and/or paper format.
