Khmilnyk community in Vinnytsia region joined the Sustainable Energy Days!
According to folk legends, settlers lived within the modern city of Khmilnyk, raiding the plundering hordes of Tatars and hiding from them on an island covered with dense thickets of vines and viburnum, over which hops were thickly curled. This island was called Khmilnyk (from the word "hop").
For four days, from June 11 to 14, 2024, the community hosted themed activities: exhibitions, contests, conferences, workshops, games, and eco-events. For example, a youth conference "Solar and Wind Energy" was held at the Citizens' Activity Center of the Khmilnyk City Territorial Community, and an exhibition "Second Life for Used Products" was held at the House of Culture of the Khmilnyk City Council, where students of lyceums and preschools and pupils of the Center for Children and Youth Creativity in Khmilnyk received incentive gifts from the city council and partners.
The slogan of this year's Sustainable Energy Days in Khmilnyk was "Khmilnyk community is on the way to green transformation. A decarbonized and competitive community".
