Jerusalem artichoke: climate hero or dangerous invasive?
On Thursday, May 9, an event to discuss the climate impact of Jerusalem artichoke will be held in the urban gardening space, the “Rozsadnyk”. The event was initiated by Serhiy Kosharuk, who has extensive experience in growing the plant. Therefore, we invite everyone who has the opportunity to join the discussion, which is supported by the Lviv City Council.

Together we will find out whether Jerusalem artichoke can save the world from climate change and what consequences such a rescue operation might have for local biodiversity.
The discussion will be joined by:
- Sergiy Kosharuk, Advisor-Consultant on Energy Efficiency, Ecology and Community Development at the Association of Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine.
- Nadiya Sychak, PhD in Biology, Senior Researcher at the Department of Natural Ecosystems Protection at the Institute of Carpathian Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Board Member of the NGO “Institute of Biodiversity”, Executive Director of the National Biodiversity Information Network (UkrBIN).
