Invitation for the participation in trainings on "green buildings"
Dear representatives of EECU member communities and partner organisations!
In June 2023, the Association of Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine, as part of an international consortium of organisations, launched the Smarter Finance for EU (SMARTER4EU) project. This project is funded by the European Commission under the EU-LIFE Programme.
SMARTER4EU aims to promote the development of green building, including the development of green mortgage finance instruments, in the EU and candidate countries. In response to the energy crisis in Europe caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the project also focuses on hybrid green finance instruments for vulnerable citizens, including the integration of green solutions in the process of rebuilding Ukraine's destroyed and damaged infrastructure.
One of the important components of the project is to increase the competence and capacity of key stakeholders, including national-level institutions, local governments, citizens, developers, lenders and green building solution providers.
With this in mind, we invite all interested parties to take part in a series of online trainings to learn about modern approaches to implementing green building projects in the housing sector.
The trainings will be conducted by competent international experts and will include the following topics (indicative list):
- general principles of green building;
- financial aspects of green buildings;
- green building certification systems (LEED, BREEAM, DGNB, HQE);
- technical aspects of planning and implementing green building projects.
The first of the planned trainings on "Green Buildings" will take place on 16th October 2023 and will be conducted by Elena Rastei, Technical Director of the Certification Department of the Green Building Council of Romania.
The target audience of these trainings in Ukraine is:
- specialists of central executive authorities and other national-level institutions responsible for the development and implementation of state policy in the field of energy efficiency, construction and restoration of infrastructure damaged as a result of Russia's military aggression, as well as development and support of financing mechanisms for the construction and restoration of housing stock to meet the needs of affected citizens;
- local government officials, including energy managers and specialists in urban planning and architecture;
- national, regional and local civil society institutions working in these areas;
- academic institutions that train specialists in urban planning and architecture;
- other interested institutions and private sector professionals who are committed to developing green building in Ukraine.
The series of trainings will be held in October-November 2023 in an online format.
Participation in the trainings is free of charge.
The language of the trainings is English. In case of a large number of registrations, EECU will provide translation of the trainings into Ukrainian.
