Get to know the Ukrainian translation of the "Local Green Deals. Action Plan" publication
"The Intelligent Cities Challenge" is an initiative of the European Commission that supports cities in using advanced technologies for smart, green and socially responsible recovery. The cities participating in the initiative and their local ecosystems will drive the recovery of local economies, create new jobs, and increase the engagement and well-being of residents.
The goal of the Local Green Deal is to put sustainable development at the heart of all decisions made by local authorities, not just a single strategy for a single unit. Local Green Courses should build on the approaches of the last 10-15 years, but at the same time address key areas that were absent in traditional approaches or were considered too complex to implement.
A Local Green Deal is a place-based action plan aimed at accelerating and expanding a city's green transition. It builds on existing strategies (e.g., sustainable energy and climate action plans, circular economy, sustainability or economic development plans), legislation, market and financial incentives and combines them in a holistic approach to promote the European Green Deal at the local level. Local green policies can only work if they empower local businesses and civil society to lead the way.
