EECU will join the SMARTER4EU initiative: implementation of green construction and mortgages
The initiative plans to develop and expand the SMARTER Finance for Families project to a number of new EU countries and Ukraine. The project consortium includes organizations from Romania, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Slovakia, and Ukraine. The main partner is the Romania Green Building Council. Among Ukrainian organizations, in addition to AEU, the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency is also involved in the project.
During the kick-off conference, EECU Executive Director Sviatoslav Pavliuk emphasized the relevance of the project for Ukraine in the context of challenges in the following areas: solving the housing issue of families who lost their homes as a result of Russian aggression; introducing affordable lending instruments in the market for the construction of new energy-efficient housing; creating affordable mortgage instruments for the purchase of apartments in new energy-efficient houses for Ukrainian citizens.
