EECU looks for Communications Manager to join the team
The Association of Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine (EECU) is a non-profit organization, a union of local governments that develops the capacity of member communities to effectively plan and use energy resources efficiently, provide quality energy services, improve energy security, protect the environment and ensure sustainable development.
EECU is looking for a colleague who will help us to establish an interesting and professional process of informing and interacting with communities.
The Communication Manager will develop and implement a communication strategy designed to inform, support feedback and promote a favorable attitude towards the Association among representatives of local self-government, executive authorities, and partner institutions.
It is expected that at least 40% of the employment will be occupied by issues related to communications within the framework of the project “Certification of Municipal Energy Management in Ukraine / European Energy Award Office”, implemented by EECU with the support of the Swiss government.
Main responsibilities:
- development and implementation of the communication strategy and plan that will meet the strategic goals of the EECU;
- collecting and processing materials, monitoring trends and responding to newsworthy events relevant to EECU communications;
- creating and posting text and graphic materials on the information platforms of EECU, its individual projects, and other relevant resources;
- providing communication support for public events of the EECU at various levels;
- participation in weekly team meetings, compliance with organizational policies and donor project requirements;
- interacting with a wide range of stakeholders to promote EECU`s communication products, its visibility, and sectoral reforms;
- editing texts, developing design of branded and printed materials taking into account elements of corporate identity;
- coordination of activities of other contractors involved in the EECU to provide related communication services (e.g., updating the website, developing a project brand, organizing broadcasts with foreign language translation, etc;)
- regularly monitoring the results of communication activities, making necessary adjustments to the communication plan based on its results, assisting project coordinators in preparing communications reports.
Requirements:
- excellent communication and organizational skills;
- higher education in public relations/journalism/communications or related fields;
- at least two years of experience in the media or in a similar position in international projects / public / humanitarian sector / press service of local government;
- confident use of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Canva Pro and Adobe products (Photoshop, Indesign);
- readiness to travel periodically for 1-3 days to participate in events within the region, country and abroad.
It will be an advantage:
- understanding of the peculiarities of local government functioning, strategic planning processes in the areas of energy, energy efficiency, climate and mobility;
- analytical skills in working with texts, developing infographics and other explanatory materials for different target audiences;
- knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects;
- knowledge of photo and video shooting techniques, editing simple videos;
- Upper-Intermediate level of English;
- good contacts in the media.
