EECU launches online training platform on municipal energy, mobility and climate development!

EECU has developed and launched an online training platform on municipal energy, mobility and climate development - education.enefcities.org.ua.

The goal is to develop the professional development of representatives of EECU member communities and communities participating in the European Energy Award.

The training platform was developed within the EU EXCITE project of the Horizon 2020 programme, which contributed to the implementation of the European Energy Award in Ukrainian communities.

At the end of 2023, the first training course for representatives of the European Energy Award working groups was developed and launched. The training course consists of 12 thematic modules to deepen knowledge in the areas of energy management, energy audit, organisation of Sustainable Energy Days, creation and implementation of community communication strategies, development of sustainable urban mobility, project management, climate change adaptation, implementation of the European Green Deal, and implementation of the EEA tool in communities.

22 representatives of participating communities: Dolyna, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Myrhorod, Novovolynsk, Rivne, Cherkasy, Chortkiv were the first to complete the training course using its available tools.

With the widespread implementation of energy management in communities, as a result of the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On Energy Efficiency", the training platform will serve as a useful resource for improving the skills of community representatives. 

In 2024, EECU will expand the list of training courses, in particular in the field of mobility, the European Green Deal and green reconstruction.
