At the end of October a powerful SPP was installed at a tram depot in Vinnytsia
Vinnytsia Transport Company has completed the construction of a rooftop solar power plant with a total capacity of 100 kW at its tram depot. The installation of the solar power plant took 2 weeks. During this time, 240 panels with a total area of 1,150 square metres were installed.
Production companies have been preparing for winter and installing solar power plants since this summer.
The solar power plant will reduce electricity consumption from the general grid by 100,000 kWh per year and will partially ensure the proper operation of the depot during a possible blackout.
"The installation of the power plant will provide our tram depot with an uninterrupted supply of electricity. Given that in winter there may be problems in Ukraine's energy system due to possible enemy shelling of critical infrastructure, it is important to provide the transport depot with renewable energy sources. After all, public transport needs to be constantly maintained and repaired," said Oleksandr Nechaev, director of Vinnytsia Transport Company.
