European Mobility Week has started in Europe. As previously reported by the AEAU website, this year six Ukrainian cities have declared their intention to join this pan-European event. The cities are holding "Bike to Work" campaigns, presentations, discussions, excursions and other events dedicated to sustainable urban mobility. The aim of the events is to promote sustainable means of transport, such as cycling, walking and public transport.
Some of the events have already taken place over the past weekend, and some are still to come. We have collected information about the most interesting ones:
- The Bike to Work campaign will take place in Chernivtsi, Poltava, and Lviv on the morning of 19 September. The organisers invite citizens to meet in the morning in the central part of each city, drink coffee and then go to work by bike;
- In Zhytomyr, on 20 September, a workshop on Tactical Urbanism and Urban Art Interventions will be held;
- In Chernivtsi, there will be a "Day without a Car," a tour of Chernivtsi's Transport Past, and a presentation of the Zankovetska Street reconstruction project;
- Lviv has prepared a serious programme, which will include a tram-themed walking tour, a trolleybus tour, and the Day of Sichovykh Striltsiv Street.
