Project Goal: Institutionalization and expansion of the European Energy Award in Ukraine.
Project Objectives:
- Promote the implementation of sustainable mobility, energy and climate policies at the national, regional and local levels.
- Increase the capacity of local authorities in the transition to carbon neutrality.
- The national environment is favorable for the implementation of the EEA.
- The structure of the national EEA program is strengthened and functional.
- EEA is widely implemented at the local level.
With the support of the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, the Association of Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine (EECU) is launching a new phase of the European Energy Award (EEA) implementation in Ukraine, funded by the Swiss government.
At the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 #URC2024, held in Berlin on June 11-12, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine announced an agreement on a new Municipal Energy Management Certification Project in Ukraine. The project will promote the implementation of sustainable mobility, energy and climate policies at the national, regional and local levels, as well as increase the capacity of local authorities in the transition to carbon neutrality.
The application of the EEA will help Ukrainian communities affected by the war to plan their future.
